Who provides Pepper

Pepper is operated by 1547851 B.C. Ltd., doing business as Metacube Digital ("Pepper," "we," "us," or "our").

The service

Pepper helps Metro Vancouver volleyball captains and players coordinate roster spots and subs. The core matching features are free to get started. We may introduce paid organizer tools later; we will not surprise you with paywalls on the basic loop.

Your account

You must be 18 or older to create an account. You must sign in with Apple, Google, or email to use Pepper. Keep your contact details accurate enough for match coordination. You are responsible for activity on your account.

Community expectations

Show up when you say you will. Treat captains and players with respect. Do not spam posts, harass others, or misuse share links. We may suspend accounts that break these expectations. These expectations are here to set the tone. They do not create any duty on Pepper's part to supervise, monitor, control, or enforce participant conduct, or to ensure the safety of any game. Players are responsible for their own conduct.

Content you post

You own your profile and post content. By posting, you give Pepper a license to display that content in the app and on share pages so matching can work.

No guarantee of a full roster

Pepper is a coordination tool. We do not guarantee that every spot fills or that every player confirms. Captains remain responsible for their own events.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

There is no tolerance on Pepper for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content, impersonation, and content that targets someone for who they are are not permitted. Report anything that crosses that line: a person at Pepper reads every report, usually within a day, removes content that breaches these terms, and removes the account behind it where the breach warrants it. Threats, violence, and fraud mean permanent removal on the first instance, without warning. We may, but have no obligation to, monitor content or conduct on Pepper. We are not liable for moderating or for not moderating, and nothing we do or say waives our right to moderate, or not.

Reporting and blocking

Report and Block sit on every published poster you do not own, on the claim screen, and in the header of any direct chat. Blocking takes effect immediately and hides each of you from the other; Settings › Blocked players undoes it. You never need anyone's permission to block them, and we do not tell them you did. Reporting sends the content to us for review.

Your show-up record

When you accept a spot and the game passes, the result is recorded as played, no-show, or excused, and Pepper shows a show-up percentage on your player card so captains can judge reliability. Only played and no-show results count toward that percentage — an excused absence is excluded entirely, so cancelling properly never costs you anything. The percentage stays blank until you have at least one decisive result. If a record is wrong, report it within 14 days and we will review and correct it.

Games and personal risk

Pepper is a matching platform, not the organizer of any game. Captains, organizers, leagues, and facilities run their own events, set their own rules and fees, and are responsible for their venues. We do not vet games, venues, or players beyond what the app shows. We do not run background checks, identity checks, or criminal record checks on anyone, and a profile, a stated skill level, and a show-up record are self-reported or community-generated rather than verified by us. No Pepper staff attend games. Nobody from Pepper is present, and there is no referee, supervisor, or official unless the venue or league provides one. A captain is another player using Pepper, not an employee, agent, or representative of Pepper, and captains are not trained, screened, or supervised by us. Meeting people you do not know carries risk that is yours to judge: tell someone where you are going, meet at the venue, and leave if it feels wrong. Volleyball is a physical sport. By using Pepper to find or fill games, you acknowledge that participation in any game carries inherent risk of injury, and you assume that risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pepper is not liable for injuries, property damage, disputes, or losses arising from games arranged through the platform. Get your own insurance where appropriate; follow your league's waiver requirements.

Indemnity

If something you post or do on Pepper leads someone else to bring a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable cost of defending and resolving it, to the extent the claim arises from your own breach of these terms or your own unlawful conduct. This does not cover anything caused by us, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

Liability

Pepper is provided as-is. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for game-day outcomes, no-shows, or disputes between users.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and applicable Canadian law. Disputes are subject to the courts of British Columbia, except where consumer protection laws require otherwise. If a clause is found unenforceable, the rest stands.
